Trauma-Informed Care for Kids' Sports + Activities

beTI for Kids’ Sports + Activities is for anyone who volunteers or works in this industry to include coaches, instructors, teachers, bookkeepers, owners, directors, custodians, customer service reps, HR officers, etc. Everyone deserves to have the skillset and knowledge to create a trauma-informed care environment as everyone plays a vital role in every student’s life.

This course includes a 65-training, a Trauma-Informed Care Workbook (download on course page), and a certificate of completion. Participants learn what trauma actually is (it’s not only abuse or neglect), what the symptoms of trauma look like in children and youth, and how to appropriately respond in various scenarios. You learn how to create a safer, more trustworthy environment, and also about how to recognize when secondary trauma creeps into your life. You also learn from three actual scenarios on how to handle specific situations through a trauma lens.

Simply put, one in three children have experienced trauma. That’s a large statistic and most likely underrepresented. This course equips you with tools and techniques to identify when a child is experiencing a symptom of trauma (trauma trigger) and how to respond in an effort to not retraumatize. When we create a TIC environment through training our team, adopting trauma-friendly policies, and instilling collaboration, we create a high-quality, safe environment that promotes learning and success for our children and youth.
